Hope, Help, Healing
A Heartbeat. For many parents, hearing the heartbeat of their unborn child becomes the first loving bond to the child. The discovery of a child’s heart defect, whether diagnosed in the womb, shortly after birth, or during childhood, is often devastating.
When parents hear the news that their child has a heart defect, many feel hopeless and alone. Mended Little Hearts, a program of the Mended Hearts, Inc., lets parents know that there is hope and that they are not alone. Mended Little Hearts was created to help restore hope through a loving community of people with shared experiences.
You have a choice of personal fundraiser pages that make us all feel like kids again... Do you ever think back to what you wanted to be when you grew up? Now you can explore our Mended Little Hearts Kids' photo ops for what they want to be when they grow up and relive that feeling.
"Mended Little Hearts allows parents to support each other and new families in a way that only another congenital heart defect family understands, giving families a sense of hope and security. When my son was finally home from the hospital, I was terrified, scared and depressed. When MLH came into my life, I finally felt a sense of security—knowing that I wasn't alone and other parents felt the same way I did."
